Museums in Times of Uncertainty: Protection, Responsibility, and Resilience of Cultural Heritage

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the upcoming international professional conference organized by the Slovak Committee of ICOM which will take place on May 27–28, 2026, in Trenčín, in cooperation with the Trenčín Museum and the Creative Institute Trenčín. The conference will focus on the role of museums during periods of social, political, environmental, and security uncertainties. It provides a platform for professional discussion on topics such as the protection of cultural heritage (including illegal trade), crisis management, ethics, institutional autonomy, as well as the daily practices of museums in the changing conditions of the Central European region.
We hereby invite you to submit a proposal for a paper and actively contribute to shaping the conference program.

Required elements: title and short abstract of the presentation
Submission deadline: February 15, 2026
