176^th Executive Board decision on the Revision of the ICOM Code of Ethics process:

In its 176th Session (26 and 27 June 2025), the Executive Board decided to extend the Revision of the Code of Ethics process until the General Assembly in June 2026.

In making this decision, the Executive Board and I considered the following factors: the strong commitment of the Revision Group; the outcomes of our consultation with the Group at an ad hoc session of the Executive Board on 30 May 2025 and the results of the fourth consultation as presented at the 98th Session of the Advisory Council on 23 June 2025 and the 176th Session of the Executive Board.

This extension is fully supported by the Revision Group, which remains dedicated to a transparent, inclusive, and carefully paced process. The additional time will allow for further discussion, the completion of this complex task, and the preparation of high-quality translations. The Executive Board and I are united in acknowledging the Group’s sustained efforts and reaffirm our full support for the continuation of this important work.
